Meet at 10.30am at Mam Tor National Trust car park (pay & display) upper level (a limited amount of free roadside parking is also available). Grid Ref: SK124833 OS Explorer 01 Dark Peak. Party size is limited to 15 – booking essential.

A walk of approx. 5/6 miles around the head of the Hope Valley, Castleton and Mam Tor to view the geology of the area. It is all on public footpaths, but includes grassy as well as steep rocky ascents and descents and probably a fair amount of mud.

Toilets and resources in Castleton (which we pass through). Bring a packed lunch.
