Meet at the village cross in the centre of Monyash at 10.30am. The adjacent Smithy Cafe will be open from 9.30am for anyone wanting a good breakfast before setting out.

To mark the date of the Autumn High Peak Barmote Court, this 6-mile walk will visit a number of sites in the Monyash area with a general theme of mining law and disputes. Afterwards, there will be the option to visit the Bulls Head Inn, the traditional venue for the High Peak Court, and – in keeping with tradition – “partake of ale”.

Bring a packed lunch.
